Privacy Policy
How SendPay Business collects, uses, shares and protects your information.
Regulated partners
SendPay Business is a technology provider. Payments, custody of funds and card issuing are delivered by our partners — including providers authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) — and your data is shared with them to provide those regulated services. SendPay Business is not itself authorised by the FCA.
1. Who we are
SendPay Business ('we', 'us') is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact support@sendpaybusiness.com.
2. Information we collect
Account details (name, business details, email, phone); identity and business verification information and documents (KYC), including ID and proof of address; transaction and balance data generated when you use the platform; device, log and usage data; and records of your communications with support.
3. How we use your information & our lawful bases
To provide and operate the service and your account (performance of a contract); to verify identity, prevent fraud and money laundering, and meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations (legal obligation); to secure, maintain and improve the platform (legitimate interests); and, where you opt in, to send marketing (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
4. Who we share it with
We share data with the regulated payment, banking and card-issuing partners that deliver the service (including Stripe, which processes payments, helps hold funds and issues cards); identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers; hosting and software providers acting on our instructions; professional advisers; and regulators, authorities and law enforcement where required or permitted by law. We may also share data in connection with a business sale or reorganisation. We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our partners and providers process data outside the UK and EEA. Where they do, we rely on a UK adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) to protect your data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. To meet anti-money-laundering and other legal obligations, certain records (such as identity and transaction records) are typically retained for at least five years after our relationship ends, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may request access to, correction or deletion of your data; restrict or object to certain processing; request portability; and withdraw consent. We respond within the time limits set by law. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk — though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.
8. Data security
We use strong security measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, and our regulated partners apply bank-grade safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and will notify you and the regulator of a qualifying breach as required by law.
9. Cookies
We use essential, analytics, personalisation and marketing cookies. You can manage non-essential cookies via the cookie banner; essential cookies are required for the service to function.
10. Children
SendPay Business is for businesses and people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, our partners or our service. Where changes are material we will give reasonable notice, and the effective date will be updated.
12. SendPay2SendPay lookups
When you make a SendPay2SendPay transfer, we use the email, phone number or SendPay code you enter to locate the recipient's SendPay Business account and show their business name so you can confirm it before sending. We do not reveal any other account details to you.
13. Contact
